Web Developer / Designer

We are seeking a talented and creative Web Developer and Designer to join our dynamic team. You will be working for an experienced company that has been operating for over 15 years and who you will be collaborating with daily.

You will be joining an established team (of 9 people) which brings a wealth of experience consisting of seasoned industry professionals, expansion specialists and technical leaders who have worked in some of the biggest and most innovative tech firms and global corporations.

This role is for a full time contractor role for 3 months with a view to extending to a permanent full time role for the suitable candidate.

LOCATION
Our head office is located in Sydney Australia with a remote work policy in place enabling us to look overseas for talented engineers – which could be you!
About the role
You will be building and maintaining the websites for multiple brands across our portfolio of companies. You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining visually appealing user friendly websites that are dynamic and interactive. Your primary focus will be front-end development, including designing, implementing and ongoing optimization of these designs.

You will be taking SEO into account and collaborating with the UX and UI team to make sure all sites are easy to use and navigate whilst ranking high on Google and other search engines..

RESPONSIBILITIES
– Designing and developing visually appealing websites using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
– Implementing responsive design principles to ensure websites are optimised for different devices and screen sizes
– Conducting website testing, debugging and troubleshooting to ensure optimal functionality and performance
– Updating and maintaining existing websites, making necessary changes and enhancements as required
– Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers and content creators to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality
– Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
– Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
– A minimum of 3-5 years of experience
– Demonstrable UI design skills with a strong portfolio
– Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
– Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, OmniGraffle, or other visual design and wireframing tools
– Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
– Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders
– Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
– Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
– Ability to collaborate and work effectively across all levels of the company

BONUS EXPERIENCE
– Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
– Experience with Figma, Invision or alternatives
– Experience w/ Bootstrap or other CSS frameworks
– React or similar Javascript frameworks
– High level of proficiency in English
