Job Description

Our Bainbridge Island, WA-based travel company is in search of a skilled WordPress Developer for a long-term freelance role to help build and maintain our website, ensuring seamless integration with our overall brand identity, and a technically excellent solution for our guests and partners.

Position: Freelance, Remote

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Collaborate with our Digital Marketing team to implement website designs that are technically superior and visually appealing.
* Use WordPress, WooCommerce, Beaver Builder, various plugins, and custom code to develop and update our online experience.
* Optimize the website for speed, user-friendliness, aesthetic appeal, sales, and security.
* Work with content creators and copywriters to integrate multimedia content effectively.
* Propose and implement UX/UI enhancements based on user feedback and website performance.
* Swiftly resolve website-related issues to maintain optimal performance and user experience.
* Regularly update website security, data protection measures, plugins, and code.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

* 3+ years of professional experience as a WordPress Developer.
* Expert understanding of WordPress, WooCommerce, and its plugin ecosystem, including proficiency with Beaver Builder.
* Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and database management.
* Ability to apply responsive design principles and suggest UI/UX improvements.
* Experience with performance optimization tools.
* Strong communication skills with a user-oriented problem-solving mindset.
* Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a remote team setting.
* Proactive, detail-oriented, ownership mentality, team player, highly productive.

PREFERRED SKILLS & TRAITS FOR SUCCESS

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Prior experience managing high-traffic, visually compelling WordPress websites.
* A keen eye for design and aesthetics, with an understanding of the pivotal role of design in the web experience. Prior design experience is a significant advantage.
* Willingness to acquire new technical skills and methodologies.
* Ability to train team members on the optimal usage of WordPress and its tools.
