Stephanie Manka, wildlife biologist, author, and founder of Fancy Scientist LLC, is seeking an upbeat, data-driven virtual assistant passionate and knowledgeable about WordPress and web traffic to grow the company’s website and solve tech problems as they arise. Our goal is to help wildlife by teaching people about science, conservation, and research, and through empowering and preparing aspiring and entry-level wildlife professionals so they can secure good jobs in this competitive career. Our company is small and our culture is based on 4 core values: Being honest, responsible, and accountable, embodying a Fancy Scientist (you do NOT need scientific experience at all), having a “What can I do?” attitude, and embracing evolution in yourself. As a member of our team you will be responsible for updating the website to make it more sophisticated-looking, fast, have better SEO, and fix tech problems as they arise.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Updating the Fancy Scientist website () to increase the number of users, sessions, session duration, and decrease bounce rate amongst other analytics regarding user interactions.
– updating the website to make it more sophisticated-looking, fast, have better SEO
-Fix tech problems as they arise.
Qualifications:
– Someone who wants to provide long-term support and believes in the Fancy Scientist mission.
– Someone who strongly believes in the Fancy Scientist mission. This is more than a business making money – it is a lifestyle and we are seeking to make the world a better place
— Consistently positive attitude and solution-oriented; if there is an obstacle, they will want to find a way around, through, over it, under it, etc.
– Someone who is detail oriented, follows directions, and has a high standard of excellence
– Someone who cares about aesthetics and preferably has an artistic side
– Someone who’s humble and teachable
– Strong knowledge of WordPress and Google Analytics
– Knowledge of email marketing platforms a plus
– Up to date on current social media trends a plus
This is a part time position, but may turn into a full-time position.
