Book of Rhymes is an “edutainment” company that expands literacy through lyrics. We exist to help K-12 students, especially dyslexic learners, with reading and writing. Our business lives at the intersection of Hip-Hop based education, evidence-based literacy, and technology. Hip-Hop Ed is a form of culturally relevant teaching that engages students through the power of Hip-Hop culture.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled Website Developer to join our team. You’ll work closely with our team to bring client visions to life, utilizing your technical expertise and creativity to deliver exceptional web solutions. At the time, this is a project-based position that could lead to a long-term position depending on performance and company need.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with our design and marketing teams to develop visually stunning and user-friendly websites.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant web technologies.
Customize and integrate content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal.
Perform website updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and security.
Implement responsive web design principles to ensure websites function flawlessly on all devices and screen sizes.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve our web development processes.
Provide technical support and training to clients as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience as a Website Developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant web development languages and tools.
Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Joomla, Drupal).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of web performance optimization techniques.
Graphic design skills and experience with design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
