Job Description

Are you an awesome WooCommerce Developer? Let’s talk!

Hi there, my name is Ty and my company, Price Marketing Group, is looking to hire a WordPress Developer to primarily build and maintain WooCommerce stores for our clients.

Currently we have 5 WooCommerce stores that we need to build and push live over the next 3 months.

And we have a handful of sites that are in operation today and getting sales, that we need to make sure to keep updated and provide maintenance for.

*** If you’re a WordPress developer BUT you’ve never built a WooCommerce store before, please don’t apply. ***
*** If you don’t have at least 3 WooCommerce stores in your portfolio that you can share with me, please don’t apply. ***

You should be an expert in WordPress development. In addition to extensive WooCommerce experience, you should be very comfortable building and customizing themes, using page builders, creating plugins from scratch, and handling some minor server management as well.

We are not just looking for just any VA / freelancer to fill this role. We’re looking for someone special who loves to learn, solve problems, and work towards a greater goal.

As you review the job description below, please know that we welcome any questions you may have about the position or our team!

This posting is for an audition. We will be selecting 3 candidates to hire for a test project. After seeing your work and then conducting a short, follow up interview, we’ll choose the new person for our team!

This could be a part-time or full-time position to start, with no end date in mind. Ideally this should be a long-term position. As I mentioned, we have 5 sites to build over the next few months, and we’re continually signing new clients.

You get to work during your normal day work hours. I’m in the United States and we’ll make sure to touch base at least once per day.

RESPONSIBILITIES
————————-

// Building eCommerce Stores – Building new sites in WooCommerce for some pretty cool companies.

// Managing WordPress Sites – Managing the monthly maintenance on the WordPress sites to make sure code and plugins are up to date and the sites are secure.

// Server Management – not a whole lot of advanced work here needed, but if you know your way around a server, can spin up new servers, perform backups, that would be great.

// Occasionally we’ll have some non-eCommerce sites to work on as well, but they will still be in WordPress – websites for local businesses, eLearning sites utilizing LearnDash, etc.

// Sending me a daily report.

SKILLS
———

* You should be highly proficient with CSS and be able to look at a PSD mockup and make the page pretty much pixel perfect.
* WordPress, WooCommerce
* Page builders – we primarily use Elementor
* Creating our own plugins
* PHP, MySQL
* Maintaining web servers, setting up email and SSL.
* GitHub
* Optimizing the speed of websites utilizing best practices.
* Backups using WPRemote (BlogVault)
* Configuring CloudFlare

WORK SCHEDULE & HOLIDAYS
——————————————-

This should be close to a full-time position, 30 to 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

You can work your regular working hours if you prefer (i.e. 9am-5pm). I am on Central Time and probably about 13 hours behind you. But I do NOT need you to work U.S. hours. I don’t think that’s healthy. Work normal hours and have time for your family and friends. This also means I don’t really care when in the day you work, as long as you put in the hours and complete your work.

We will agree on an hourly rate that works for the both of us. Then we will start our working relationship with either a a) fixed fee for each website build based on expected hours, or b) paying you hourly for the hours you’ve tracked (we use Toggl).

If after working for a while it is confirmed that we’ll have consistent, full-time work for you for the foreseeable future, then I’d be okay moving towards paying you a salary, which would include paid time off for holidays (we honor most Filipino holidays) and sick days.

———————————————————————
COMP, BENEFITS AND OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES
———————————————————————

Compensation is negotiable. I’m thinking somewhere between 60,000 to 100,0000 PHP per month, depending on experience, is appropriate. This compensation range is based on 40 hours per week.

If and when we move from fixed fee or hourly billing to a salaried position, I would be comfortable including the following::
* 13th month pay
* Health care reimbursement

QUALITIES NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
——————————————————-

Integrity. You are a good fit if you can be honest with me and other team members. Open communication and honesty are paramount. If you aren’t able to hit a deadline or if you make a mistake, be upfront about it. We’re all human.

Commitment. We are looking for someone who is looking for a long term relationship, with a willingness to work hard, learn new things, and solve tough problems. If you’re just looking for a few months of work, this is not for you.

Desire to Learn. We want people who are open to learning new skills and taking on new projects. If you’re not excited about improving your skills and trying new things, this is not for you.

If this sounds like you, please apply below and I will personally read your application, work samples and answer any questions you may have (seriously, the more questions the better). In your reply please start the first line with the phrase “I love ecom” so that I know you actually read the complete job description. And don’t forget to include your WooCommerce portfolio.

Thank you for your time!
