Job Description

I am looking for a curriculum developer to write a curriculum script for an online program in WordPress Content Management Systems. I am seeking someone who can build and develop an interactive and engaging curriculum that will appeal to individuals looking to switch to a technology career from a non-technical background and seeking skills in website management and content creation. The right curriculum developer will have a good understanding of the skills and knowledge used in WordPress or be comfortable researching and writing curriculum in this subject area, have excellent writing and communication skills, and be able to complete tasks with little oversight and within the budget. The curriculum developer will be responsible for writing the curriculum and content for each section (there are 3).

For the project scope, this project will have a curriculum for 3 sections written in the following script structure:
• Learning objectives
• 3 – 5 Lessons
• Each lesson must have (a) two activities to check the learner’s knowledge and (b) an end-of-lesson quiz.
• There should be a final assignment.
• The minimum total word count per section: 3,000

Project Objective: Develop an online, self-paced training program that provides a beginner’s understanding of the WordPress content management system and prepares learners to change careers.
Project Schedule:
Section 1 Script Due: 1 week from start;
Section 2 Script Due: 5 days from start;
Section 3 Script Due: 3 days from start;

Section 1: Content Creation & Management (12 – 16hrs)
• Posts vs. Pages: Understanding the difference.
• Creating and formatting blog posts.
• Creating static pages – About Us and Contact pages
• Uploading and embedding images, videos, and audio files into posts and pages.
• Optimizing content for search engines (SEO) using relevant keywords and meta tags.

Section 2: Website Security and Maintenance (8 – 10 hrs)
• Understanding website security
• Backing up and updating a WordPress site
• Configure plugins for backup and security.

Section3: Packaging your WordPress Skills for Freelancing (6- 8 hrs)
• Creating a portfolio of WordPress projects
• How to start using new skills for freelancing

You will be asked to answer these questions when submitting a proposal:
1. Please describe your knowledge level and experience in WordPress.
2. Please describe a previous instructional design work you completed for an online training.
