HOW WE OPERATE:
Experiment and make mistakes! We give our team plenty of flexibility to experiment, think and work out how best to approach a problem. You’ll be given the space to contribute your own ideas, learn from others and constantly work on improving your craft.

We’ll also provide you with guidance on how to succeed as a WP Developer at Digital Roo.

BUT… We will not spoon-feed or micro-manage you so you must be able to work on your own – this is not a role for people who love lots of instructions & require being told what to do. If that’s you, please do not apply.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Our entire tech-stack is built around WordPress, from our websites to our CRM, so we’re looking for a full-stack web developer who knows WordPress better than the back of their hand. You’ll be responsible for:
* Custom development using HTML/CSS/JS/PHP
* Building WordPress websites and landing pages using the designs & branding guidelines provided by our designers
* Optimising our websites for speed, efficiency, security, and simplicity
* Managing and maintaining our portfolio of websites
* Maintaining & improving our tech-stack, ensuring we’re using the best themes/plugins based on the companies objectives
* Integrating various software products using webhooks and APIs (e.g. posting leads to a CRM, integrating Twilio Verify with our form solution)
* Installing and setting up tracking tags for our paid media campaigns
* Learning & developing our form/survey solution
* Technologies change all the time so you will also be responsible for identifying, tinkering & experimenting with, new technologies (like page builders) and justifying why we should or shouldn’t use them in our agency. We’re open to experimenting with new technologies if it leads to better outcomes

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:
* Has 3+ years experience in a similar role, either as a freelancer or for an agency
* Is a WordPress professional – understands custom theme development, plugin development/extension, etc
* Is highly competent in HTML, CSS, PHP, JS
* Has experience working with webhooks & APIs
* Has a working knowledge of website hosting & server-management software like CPanel, Cloudways and/or Gridpane
* SSH skills are a bonus
* Has excellent analytical thinking skills & strong attention to detail
* Has experience successfully working remotely
* Has excellent communication, collaboration and time-management skills
* Is a self-starter with a positive & proactive attitude
* Is a team player who takes initiative to assist others with their work
* Loves experimenting with and learning new technologies in and outside of WordPress
