Role Description:
You will be responsible for developing high-quality, scalable, and innovative websites and web applications primarily using WordPress. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in WordPress, including theme and plugin development, as well as proficiency in a broad range of web development technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch.
• Optimize websites for maximum speed and scalability.
• Ensure all web solutions are fully responsive and adhere to all web standards and accessibility guidelines.
• Collaborate with design teams to translate visual concepts into functional online experiences.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to WordPress and other web technologies.
• Implement web design and development best practices as recommended by Kevin Geary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with WordPress, including custom theme and plugin development.
• Strong front-end technologies skills, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and pre-processing platforms like SASS or LESS.
• Proficient in back-end programming languages such as PHP and JavaScript frameworks like Click to view or React.
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
• Knowledge of best practices in SEO and the ability to implement them in WordPress.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Familiarity with Kevin Geary’s web design/development methodologies and his 101 web design course is an advantage.

• Technical Interview: Engage in technical discussions to assess depth of knowledge and problem-solving approaches.
• Test Project (Shyft Fitness Class Scheduler): Develop an interactive fitness class scheduler as a practical demonstration of your skills. This project will evaluate your ability to integrate complex functionalities using WordPress and assess your coding standards and adherence to design specifications.
