Job Description

Do you want to work somewhere you are appreciated? Work with us! We are a very small team for a small web development company. We work on a wide variety of projects, from simple to complex. You will be the primary PHP, HTML, and CSS developer for the team, developing custom plugins, troubleshooting WordPress problems, and handling technical implementations.

**Who Are We Looking For?**

Seeking a motivated, and intelligent full-time or part-time experienced WordPress developer. Must have experience with WordPress, PHP and creating/maintaining custom plugins. Must have experience troubleshooting WordPress errors. Must be flexible and adaptable, willing to learn and do new things. This is a long-term position, we are looking for the right person to keep for a long time.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**

– Receive and complete tasks from the project manager
– Tasks will likely be technical in nature, for example, “fix this responsive issue at 550px screen width” or “fix this critical error that appears on this page” or “modify this custom plugin to include this new functionality”
– Responding to occasional support requests from a client, especially if it is highly technical.
– Creating custom plugins that expand the functionality of WordPress using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JS
– Researching and finding the best plugin to accomplish a desired function
– Navigating WordPress. Changing Settings, or making changes as needed.
– Help to update and create documentation
– Using various plugins, and updating settings. Learning how to use new plugins via documentation, videos, or experimentation will be required
– Making changes to existing custom plugins
– Communicating with the team the status of your work
– Occasional server-level troubleshooting
– Help build out websites using a page builder.
– Daily report on progress during the work week via email
– Weekly Meeting

**Requirements**

– English Fluency
– Reliability and integrity
– Responsive: Quick with email and chat communication
– An advanced understanding of WordPress, 5+ yrs experience
– woocommerce coding and customization experience
– An advanced understanding of troubleshooting WordPress
– Experience coding PHP
– Experience creating custom plugins
– Experience using various plugins, and page builders
– Strong Organizational Skills
– The ability to teach yourself how to do things by using Google and following how-to guides
– HTML and CSS proficiency
– Typical work hours will be flexible, but typically work will be performed between 7am to 11pm EST, for communication with the rest of the team
