Position: WordPress Plugin Developer | Employment Type: Contractor

We’re looking for an experienced WordPress Plugin Developer. You eat, sleep and breathe code.

Please note this is not a position to build websites or work with page builders, this is a gig to maintain existing WordPress plugins with new features, fixes, and improvements along with building entirely new plugins.

Your content will help inform, educate and grow our organic and inorganic traffic and form the basis of our content writing efforts. ????
What Are We Looking For?

We’re looking for ultimately someone passionate about writing clean, performant, OOP based code.

You should have developed plugins before and be able to point us to specific code examples. This isn’t a junior role. You’re an expert in modern PHP and best practices, along with JS, CSS and HTML.

You have used build tools before like webpack and know all the tips and tricks of Github.

You’ll be playing a critical role in our team by both maintaining our existing plugins and building new plugins and features.

The code you write and deploy will be on 650,000+ websites and is an opportunity to power the lives and businesses of hundreds of thousands of users worldwide.

Who are you, and What do you Bring?

Passionate about writing clean, performant code.
Strong understanding of the WordPress Plugin API.
Expert level understanding of PHP, JS, CSS, HTML.
Native or bi-lingual English proficiency.
3+ years WordPress specific plugin development experience.
Strong time management skills.

And of course we expect that you have a stable work environment. That means you have a computer, a stable internet connection and can take and edit screenshots to fit our content style guidelines.

What Does Success Look Like in the First 90 days?
Month 1:

Learn our products deeply. You should have a solid understanding of our primary products within the first month and will be expected to pass our internal company quiz on our products.
Submitted your first PR.
Fixed a bug.
Added a small improvement.
Month 2:

Now you’re on a roll! You’ll be committing code daily (including any work in progress using our WIP label).
Performing code reviews of other developers’ work.
Helping patch bugs and submit improvements.
Month 3:

You’ve taken on feedback and are knocking it out the park with consistent contributions to our product.
You know our products inside and out.
You’ve evolved your knowledge of the WordPress ecosystem, maybe even became part of the community.
You’ve embedded into our team and helped us grow and evolve like we help you. ????
