Job Description:
As a Website Optimization Specialist, you will be responsible for improving the website’s performance, enhancing user experience, and implementing new features. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Removal of Excess JavaScript and CSS:
Analyze the website’s code to identify and remove unnecessary JavaScript and CSS files included with themes.
Ensure the efficient and clean loading of the website by eliminating any unused code.
Script Optimization:
Identify and reduce any bloated scripts that may be causing slow loading times on the main thread.
Optimize scripts and code to improve website performance.
Savings Calculator Integration:
Integrate a Savings Calculator tool similar to the one on [Example: /calculate-savings/] into our website.
Ensure the calculator is user-friendly and accurately calculates savings related to our solar solutions.
Residential and Commercial Solar Sections:
Split the website into distinct Residential and Commercial solar sections.
Create sub-sections within each category to provide a better user experience and improved navigation.
Incorporate relevant copy and content for both Residential and Commercial sections.
Random Installation Option/Scripting:
Implement a feature that showcases random solar installation options or previous projects.
Create a linked gallery of content, including images of previous installations to showcase our work.
Competitor Site Analysis:
Analyze competitor websites, such as [Example: /] and [Example: /], for design and layout inspiration.
Make CSS layout adjustments and other improvements as necessary to streamline the site and remove unnecessary code.
Collaboration:
Work with the existing tools and systems to optimize the website without the need to design something entirely new.
Ensure seamless integration and compatibility with existing systems.
Requirements:
Proven experience in website optimization, JavaScript, and CSS.
Strong knowledge of web performance optimization techniques.
Proficiency in web development and content management systems.
Familiarity with integrating calculators and interactive features into websites.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Initially the applicant will be engaged on a trial basis with the view to ongoing regular work. Hourly rate will be negotiated depending on demonstrated ability.
