Woocommerce developer for a USA+ European brand E-commerce of sustainable products
At Botanopia, we sell plant accessories and products for plant lovers, through our WooCommerce online shop and through marketplaces. We’re expanding, and we’re looking for a new long-term developer to join our team. Our headquarters are in the Netherlands, Europe, and we have a branch in the USA as well. *Who we’re looking for:*
We’re looking for a wordpress (woocommerce) developer to help us improve and maintain our website. Full-time or part-time are both possible depending on your availability. You have significant experience with custom coding of plugins, themes and functionalities.
The 3 qualities you need to be successful in this role are: Integrity, experience, desire to learn.
Integrity: you are open and honest in your communication with your colleagues and the customers. If you’re struggling with a task or made a mistake, be upfront about it. We all make mistakes but I can’t help you fix it, if i don’t know about it.
Experience: We’re looking for someone who already has proven experience with our specific setup, specifically a woocommerce shop with WPML multilingual capabilities (this is crucial).
Desire to learn: We are a small team, but growing fast. We want people who are open to learning new skills and taking on new projects. If you’re not excited about improving your skills and trying out new tasks, this is not for you.
*What you’ll be doing:*
In your role as wordpress developer, the CEO will rely on you for improvements and changes to our website. Thanks to you, website is up to date, speed is improved, and custom integrations with our other systems are running smoothly.
Here’s an overview of the most relevant recurring tasks you’ll be working on at Botanopia.
-Updating plugins and wordpress (testing first on our staging site)
-Implement theme changes
-Implement changes to our posts or products (SEO-related changes, updates to descriptions or prices etc)
-Integration with external systems (marketplaces, ERP, marketing tools)
-Coding and Optimization of plugins (we’d like to reduce the number of plugins we use now by custom coding their features ourself instead)
