Job Description

I’m looking for a writer to join my content creation agency. I need someone who can:

– Write juicy headlines that make people want to watch videos

– Write personable social media posts that make people want to engage

– Proofread captions to make sure there are no mistakes

– Repurpose video transcripts into carousels and quote images

The ideal person will write comfortably in conversational English. I’ve had a lot of writers apply who have very impressive vocabularies and compose exquisite sentences… but that’s not how real people write. Especially on social media. So I want you to write in a way that makes our clients sound real and relatable.

I’m also looking for someone who is super nice to work with! I want everyone on our team to treat each other well, and to give our customers incredible service. If we’re going to talk to each other every day… we might as well make it pleasant!

If you’re interested in this job, please don’t send a resume or a portfolio. To apply please just read the following transcript and write a headline for it (short enough to be used on social media), write a social media post that would go along with the video, turn it into a script for a carousel, and pull out a quote that will be used for a quote image (you can paraphrase or summarize).

“I like to say we’re tough on challenges, we’re not tough on people. The right way to challenge matters just as much as the challenge itself. When you’re approaching a member of the team, you have to stay focused on the issue, not on the person. “Hey, man, we challenge each other, right? I’ve noticed that your performance is sliding and there’s been some degradation in your work. I’d like to talk about that with you.” And then you bring the numbers. You quantify that slide. You don’t just say, “I feel as if you’re sliding.” Everybody has feelings, but that’s not how we get better. Being in an environment where everyone knows challenges are an obligation of being a part of this team, but also being very careful and mindful and empathetic in how we issue those challenges is what matters a whole heck of a lot.”

Just FYI, this video has already been finished for the client, so I’m not trying to great free work!

Thanks for reading and I look forward to seeing your work!
