Job Description

We are based in New Zealand and we are looking for an experienced Xero bookkeeper (we already have one Filipino on our team). We pride ourselves on our commitment to delivering exceptional bookeeping, accounting, taxation, audit and advisory services to our clients. We are a Xero practice. We are a looking for a superstar bookeeper that is an EXPERT in all things Xero.

About the Role:
You will be supporting a client manager in New Zealand with bookkeeping for New Zealand clients on Xero mainly (and some on excel). Ideally you will have experience of working in a New Zealand accounting firm or for New Zealand clients – or if not then experience working in a BPO for Australian firms to service their clients. You will be given training and support to help you manage daily bookkeeping for clients and therefore being a quick learner will help. You will ideally also have experience with GST returns, myIR and filing income tax returns.

Experience of Xero is required and it would be useful to also be familiar with using Hub-Doc or similar.

Software we use:

– Xero (Blue, Green and HQ), including Xero Practice Manager
– Excel, PowerPoint, Word
– Hubdoc
– Office 365 (emails)
– Microsoft (Teams, Stream, Bookings and others)
– Notion (company wiki)

What you need to have:
You will have at least 3 years experience of bookkeeping and have a degree or similar accounting qualification. You will be comfortable using Teams to have daily calls with your manager and become part of the team.

We work with a lot of property clients so it is an exciting opportunity for someone who is diligent, has a strong bookkeeping foundation and knowledge of Xero in particular.

The director of the business has extensive Big4, mid-tier and regulatory public practice experience, so you will get good working and learning exposure as if working for the Big4. Your working hours:
This is a fully remote position so you can work from home providing you have a good internet connection. We are flexible around the hours but usually the hours would be in line with full-time New Zealand working hours between 9am – 5pm (Auckland time)

Holidays:
We honor all Filipino regular holidays, subject to work commitments, in addition to 25 days per year as well as the 13th month pro rated once you pass your 6 months probationary period..
