Generations Ministry Trust, a non-profit organization providing hope and opportunity to individuals overcoming addiction and homelessness, seeks a passionate and experienced Bookkeeper to join our dedicated team. As a vital member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with US tax regulations, and providing valuable insights to support informed decision-making.

Responsibilities:

* Manage all aspects of the accounting cycle using Xero accounting software, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to best practices.
* Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for the organization, staying current with complex tax regulations.
* Reconcile bank statements and accounts payable/receivable in a timely manner.
* Generate monthly and annual financial reports, analyzing data to provide meaningful insights to management.
* Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax and labor laws.
* Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audits and other compliance purposes.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial systems integrate seamlessly and support operational needs.
* Stay informed of accounting and tax updates, implementing best practices to optimize financial management.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (preferred).
* Minimum 3 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting, with demonstrated proficiency in Xero.
* Strong understanding of US tax laws and regulations, with experience preparing and filing tax returns.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
