We are a small Irish accounting practice looking for a qualified accountant to join our team supporting SME clients on a part time basis. We work fully remotely, with all the tools and systems in place to enable us to deliver a first class service to our clients. We build strong relationships with our clients and support them by providing regular financial information to help with their decision making. We are proactive in providing information to identify areas of opportunity to enhance client profitability and growth. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in this type of work, possessing excellent people skills, unwavering integrity, and meticulous attention to detail. A proactive mindset is essential for success in this role. This role is currently for 5 hours per week but there is scope for more hours once the person has settled in.
Responsibilities are:
Bookkeeping for SME clients (Small Medium Enterprises)- raising sales invoices, processing expenses and bills, reviewing and managing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, requesting receipts, downloading bill invoices, reaching out to suppliers as needed, and verifying transactions, Monthly close procedures
Weekly and Monthly bank reconciliations
Posting monthly journals- payroll, depreciation, interest etc
Monthly P&L and balance statement
Budget Variance Review
Cash flow planning and review costing and pricing strategies
Irish Bi Monthly Sales Tax (VAT Returns)
Year End Accounts/Financial Statements
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance client profitability and growth
Monitor financial and non-financial KPIs to track client progress
Create solutions and new ideas for issues / broken processes based on client feedback.
Who we are looking for- Qualifications
A dedicated and passionate Qualified Accountant preferred
Certified XERO Advisor
Proficiency with using QuickBooks Online and any other accounting software
Expert in Excel/Google Suite
Experience using HUBDOC
Experience using Asana and Accountancy Manager preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably working with small businesses.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and tax regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
Self-motivated, quick learner, and capable of working independently
Professional, honest and committed to meeting deadlines
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting.
Experience with UK and Ireland Clients is preferred but not essential
Proactive mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently.
Experience working remotely and managing a flexible schedule is preferred.
