YouTube Video Editor

We are a growing YouTube channel dedicated to creating high-quality video essays about business and finance. Our content aims to educate and engage viewers with insightful analysis and compelling storytelling. We are looking for a talented and creative video editor to join our team and help elevate our content to the next level.

This role will start off part time and take approximately 16-24 hours a week. If the candidate is a good fit and produces good work, we’re more than happy to move them up to a full time (40+ hours a week) position.

Responsibilities:

-Edit 10-20 minute video essays on business and finance topics.
-Use Adobe Premiere to craft visually engaging videos that complement the voice-over narration.
-Develop and enhance the storytelling, timing, and pacing of the videos to maintain viewer engagement.
-Ideate and source footage, images, graphics, and other online media to create dynamic B-roll.
-Implement YouTube retention editing tactics to maximize audience retention and engagement.
-Collaborate with the content team to ensure a cohesive and consistent visual style.
-Provide creative input to improve video concepts and presentation.
-Be open to receiving and implementing feedback to continually improve the quality of the videos.

Workflow:

-You will receive a Premiere project file containing a sequence with the edited voice-over and music.
-Alongside this, you will be provided with the voice-over script, which includes notes and links to specific media that must be included in the edit.
-Your role will involve sourcing and editing the appropriate media, B-roll, graphics, animations, and effects that support the voice-over and keep the audience engaged.
-Part of the workflow includes receiving feedback on your edits. A willingness to learn and take feedback constructively is crucial for success in this role.

Qualifications:

-Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and a strong portfolio showcasing your video editing skills.
-Deep understanding of storytelling techniques, timing, and pacing in video editing.
-Creative mindset with the ability to source and integrate various forms of online media effectively.
-Knowledge of YouTube retention editing tactics is highly desirable.
-Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
-Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a remote team.
-Passion for business and finance topics is a plus.
-A positive attitude and openness to learning and growing through feedback.

-If your trial meets our standards, we’ll negotiate a fair wage based on your skills, guaranteeing at least $4/hour.
