Job Title: Youtube Video Editor
We are seeking a talented Video Editor to join our team to edit attention grabbing and highly engaging video content for social media primarily for YouTube longform videos but also short for Tiktok, Reels, Snapchat and YT Shorts.
What makes us different? We ONLY make entertainment based social media video content and give you a framework to work from. The prime focus of this role is adding B Roll, adding memes, sound effects, screenshots and music to liven up presented clips.
Ability to use Adobe Premiere is a must because that’s what we use and so all projects must be compatible.

*Key Tasks:*
– Editing videos that capture the viewers attention and maximize viewer retention.
– Take the footage and assemble it on a timeline to create an engaging story.
– Occasional Basic color correction and audio correction.
– Enhance the story through sound, via appropriate music to build emotions and sound effects to engage the audience.
– Ability to retell a story through J cuts, L cuts, move audio and video to tell the best story in the most compelling manner…rather than just taking a full cut of the main character talking and using it as it was filmed or simply assembling the timeline from start to finish as it was filmed.
– Ability to remove unnecessary footage…just because it was filmed doesn’t make it interesting. Although this is something we can work on as we go because no one can be expected to get this right from the start.
– Basic graphics, animations, and visual effects to enhance visual engagement, creatively adding text and using appropriate transitions for the mood.
-Rewriting captions to what was said, not just using the exact words Adobe transcribed if they are wrong.
– Ensure videos are exported for the maximum technical specs for the major platforms and formats, including reformatting content to meet 9:16, 16:9 and similar.
– Manage and organize video files, assets, and project timelines.
– Edit to story, including character development, pacing, and overall visual storytelling.
– ability to edit out pauses, stumbles and filler words such as “um” but then also allow important moments to breathe through pauses.
-Ability to take on feedback and learn, the online content world is forever changing and we all need to be able to adapt as everything changes, sometimes that means what used to work no longer does.
*About YOU:*
– Most important: an understanding of the social media landscape, primarily understanding full length YouTube videos and short form social media (Shorts, Reels and TikTok).
– Experience Editing Video with an ability to showcase engaging social media related video.
– Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, basic Photoshop skills are a bonus.
– Solid understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, editing to the beat of music and composition.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
– Excellent communication skills to understand project requirements and incorporate feedback.
– Creative mindset with an eye for detail and a passion for creating captivating visuals.
– Familiarity with industry trends and best practices in video editing for social media.
– Have your own appropriate environment including video editing setup and internet connectivity to work from home
